Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is a central government Board that provides recruitment opportunities in the railway sector for different posts. It is a government organisation working under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India.

Recently, in March, the RRB has announced a notification for the recruitment of assistant loco pilot ALP and its application will start from 12 April 2025.

Assistant Loco Pilot Overview

Assistant Loco Pilot is an entry-level position where they work under the supervision of a senior Loco pilot, assisting with various tasks like Reading, Monitoring, and Record Keeping.

Eligibility For RRB ALP Vacancy

For Assistant Loco Pilot, Candidates should fill online application after reading the Recruitment Notifications. Candidates must be based on the full details filled out on the application.

Candidate must go through the recruitment process of Educational /Technical information, Age, Medical standard, and other eligible criteria for the post. If it is found that any information about a candidate is incorrect or false, the form will be rejected.

Qualification

• A matriculation/SSLC/ IIT from a recognised institution in the field of electrician, instrument Mechanics, Mechanic (Radio and TV ), Mechanic (Diesel), Tractor mechanic, heat engine, etc.
• OR
•  Matriculation / SSLV + 3-year diploma in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic, and Automobile Engineering, OR a Degree in Engineering disciplines, also acceptable.

Medical Fitness

Candidates should ensure Medical fitness of standard One as per the rules and regulations of RRB. Candidates who are found medically unfit for the post shall not be appointed for this post.

Vision standard 

1.  Distant  Vision 6/6 (without Grass).
2.  Near vision: SN 0.6,0.6 Without Grass.
3.  Must pass the Test of colour vision, Binocular vision, field of vision, night vision, etc.

Negative Marking

 ⅓ rd marks for every wrong answer in CBT I and CBT II.

Posting Details of Railway ALP 2025

Candidates selected shall be employed throughout service on the Zone Railway in which candidates are posted on their 1st Appointment. Candidates shall have no claim as a right to transfer to another zone or department.

Refundable Fees

• For all candidates, Rs 400 out of  500 shall be refunded on appearing in the first stage CBT I.
• For SC/ST/Ex-serviceman: Rs 250 will be refunded after appearing in the first stage CBT I.

Recruitment process

A candidate can apply to only one Online Application Form; more than one form will be rejected.
